if α = β= 1

x²-5x+k=0 ( where x =1)

(1)²-5×1+k=0

1-5+k=0

4+k=0

k= -4

hope it will help you

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

since alpha beta are roots of the quadratic eqn

we have

alpha + beta = -b/a = -(-5)/1=5

now we have two eqns

alpha +beta = 5

alpha -beta = 1

this gives

alpha = 6/2 = 3

and beta = 3-1 = 2

now we know that

alpha xbeta = c/a

3*2= k/1

this gives k = 6
