let => ( a-b) = x

square both sides

=> a^2 + b^2 - 2ab = x^2

=> (a+b)^2 - 4ab = x^2

using formulae

=> b^2 / a^2 - 4ab = x^2

=> b^2 - 4a^3b / a^2 = x^2

=> wholeunderoot b^2 - 4a^3b / a^2 = x

=> underoot b^2 - 4a^3b / a

answer.hope helps
