Roots of this equation are α and β.

⇒Sum of roots= α + β = -(-p)

⇒α + β = p

Product of roots = αβ = q

Now we have to find:

⇒1/α + 1/β = (α+β)/αβ

⇒ (α+β)/αβ = \frac{p}{q}
