Answer:

let the root be -2

then,

x²-6x+k=0

put the value of -2 in the place of x

4+12+k=0

k=-16

Answer:

k = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

p(x)=x^2-6x+k

α and β are the zeroes

β = -2

i.e one factor of p(x) is (x+2)

∴x=-2

p(-2)= 2² - 6×2 + k = 0

4 - 12 + k = 0

-8 + k =0

∴k=8

hope this helps you.
