Solution :-

Given : α and β are the zeros of polynomial x² + x - 2

To find : α² + β²

α + β = - b/a = - 1

αβ = c/a = - 2

α² + β² = (α + β)² - 2αβ

= (-1)² - 2 × - 2

= 1 + 4 = 5

Hence,

α² + β² = 5

Hey !

α and β

Zero polynomial :- x² + x - 2

So therefore we need to find,

=> α² + β²

=> α + β = - b/a = - 1

=> αβ = c/a = - 2

=> α² + β² = (α + β)² - 2αβ

=> ( -1 )² - 2 * (-2)

=> 1 + 4 = 5

Good luck !
