x²-2x+4 = 0

it is in form of ax²+bx+c = 0 so
a = 1 ; b ° -2 ; c = 4

alpha = -b/a
alpha = -(-2)/1
alpha = 2

beta = c/a
beta = 4/1
beta = 4

alpha 5+ beta 5
= 2(5)+4(5)
= 10+20
= 30
