2 {x}^{2}  +  \: 3x \:  + 1

By middle term split

2 {x}^{2}  + 2x + x + 1

2x(x + 1) \:  + 1(x + 1)

(x + 1) \: (2x + 1)

so the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial are

 - 1 \: and \:  \frac{ - 1}{2}

therefore

Alpha = -1

 \alpha  =  - 1

and beta = -1/2

 \beta  =  \frac{ - 1}{2}
