Answer:

x²-4x+2=0

Here a=1,b= - 4,c= 2

Given alpha, beta are roots

Sum of roots=-b/a

Alpha+beta= 4

Product of roots =c/a

Alpha× beta =2

Given to find (alpha+1)2 +(beta+1)2

We get

2alpha+2+2beta+2

4+2(alpha+beta)

4+2(4)

4+8

=12
