If alpha, tita are the zeroes of the polynomial p(x)=xsquare-x-2 then alphasquare+titasquare​

And tita is b

Now, a + b = 1 and ab = - 2

Now, a^2 + b^2
= (a + b)^2 - 2ab
= (1)^2 -2(-2)
= 1 + 4
= 5
