Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

an = 3n-2

To find :-

First four terms of the AP ?

Solution:-

Given that

The general term = an = 3n-2

If n = 1 then

=>a1 = 3(1)-2

=>a1 = 3-2

a1 = 1

First term = 1

If n = 2 then

a2 = 3(2)-2

=> a2 = 6-2

a2 = 4

Second term = 4

If n = 3 then

a3 = 3(3)-2

=> a3 = 9-2

a3 = 7

Third term = 7

If n = 4 then

a4 = 3(4)-2

=> a4 = 12-2

a4 = 10

Fourth term = 10

Answer:-

The first four terms of the AP is 1,4,7,10

Used formulae:-

The general term of an AP = an =a+(n-1)d

  • a = First term
  • d = common difference
  • n= number of terms
