If an acid and a metal oxide react to form salt and water, is it still called a neutralisation reaction?

Yes, Reaction between acid and base is called a neutralisation reaction, because metallic oxides are basic in nature it neutralises the effect of acid. Thus we can conclude that Reaction between Acid and Metallic oxide is a neutralisation reaction.
