Explanation:

Let 1 alloy be of 1 kg

1 kg = 1000g

so, 30% of 1000g is 300g

40% of 1000g is 400g

Rest is 30% nickel which is also 300g

So, 1kg or 1 alloy has 300g of nickel

20 kg or 20 alloys will be of. 300*20g

= 6000g = 6kg

It can also be done as:

Nickel = (100% - 30 % - 40 % )

= 30 %

Alloy = 20kg

Nichel = (30/ 100)*20 = 6kg
