Question:

If an angle exceeds three times its complement by 10 degrees. Find it

Solution:

Let the angle be x

The other angle 3x+10

Complement = 90°

x+3x+10=90^{\circ}\\\\\\4x+10=90^{\circ}\\\\\\4x=90-10\\\\\\4x=80^{\circ}\\\\\\x=\frac{80}{4} \\\\\\x=20

  • x=20

  • 3x +10

= 3(20)+10

= 60+10

= 70

Answer:

  • x = 20

  • 3x+10 = 70
