Given

  • An angle is four times supplementery angle.

To find

  • Measure of both the angles.

Solution

Let the two angles be x and 2x respectively.

  • First angle = x
  • Second angle = 2x

Supplementary angles are those angles whose sum is equal to 180°.

According to the question,

⟼ x + 2x = 180°

⟼ 3x = 180°

⟼ x = 180°/3

⟼ x = 60°

The value of x = 60°

  • First angle = x = 60°
  • Second angle = 2x = 2 × 60° = 120°

Verification :-

For verifying the measure of both the angles, we will add them. If their sum will be equal to 180° then it is correct.

⟼ 60° + 120°

⟼ 180°

Hence, verified.

Given :-

An angle is four times supplementery angle.

To find :-

Measure of both the angles.

Solution :-

Let the two angles be x and 4x respectively.

First angle = x

Second angle = 4x

Supplementary angles are those angles whose sum is equal to 180°.

According to the question,

x + 4x = 180°

5x = 180°

x = 180°/5

x = 36°

The value of x = 36°

First angle = x = 36°

Second angle = 4x = 4 × 36° = 144°

Verification :-

For verifying the measure of both the angles, we will add them. If their sum will be equal to 180° then it is correct.

36° + 144°

=> 180°
