if an animal of euphotic zone has to servive abyssal zone, what adaptations are required to survive there?

First of all, try to imagine conditions of the abyssal zone - no light, high pressure, very rare pray and partner for mating… Because of this animal develop adaptations to help them deal with these problems:

structures to catch pray more easily (glowing fish lures in anglerfish)

metabolism and feeding adapted to rare occasions when faecal pellets of whales etc. fall down to the bottom, or a carcass sinks

reproductive strategies - parasitic males attach to females and stay for them forever

bioluminescence - glowing structures to attract prey, scare the predators etc.

bodies which are not very muscular and slow moving to save energy…
