Answer:-

4th term of AP = 18

⇒ a + (n-1)d = 18

a + (4-1)d = 18

a + 3d = 18

a = 18 - 3d — (i)

11th term of AP = 53

⇒ a + (n-1)d = 53

a + (11-1)d = 53

a + 10d = 53

a = 53 - 10d — (ii)

Now we compare both the equations:-

Since we know that both the equations stand for ‘a’, we can say that they are equal to each other.

18 - 3d = 53 - 10d

10d - 3d = 53 - 18

7d = 35

d = 5

Now we find the value of ‘a’ by substituting the value of ‘d’ in equation (i):-

a = 18 - 3d

a = 18 - 3(5)

a = 18 - 15

a = 3

Now we find the value of the 36th term of AP:-

Formula = a + (n-1)d

⇒ 3 + (36-1)5

3 + (35)5

3 + 175

178 Ans

36th term of AP = 178

Hope it helps
