  • pH =6

          H^{+} =10^{6} M

  • After dilution

                     [H^{+}]  =\frac{10^{-6} }{1000}

                              =10^{-9} M

  • ∴[H^{+}] from H_{2} O_{}  cannot be neglectd.
  • total,

          [H^{+}] =H^{-9} +10^{-7}

                 =10^{-7} (10^{-2} + 1)

                 =10^{-7} (1.01)

  • pH=-log(1.01X10^{-7} )

               =7-0.0043

                =6.995
