If an article is sold for rupee 178 at a loss of 11% what should its selling price be in order earn a profit of 11%?

SP of article is ₹178

loss of 11%

CP = (100 x SP)/(100-loss %)

= (100 x 178)/(100-11)

= 17800/89

= 200

CP = ₹200

for profit of 11%

SP = [(100 + profit%)/100] CP

= [(100 + 11)/100] 200

= (111/100) x 200

= 222

hence, the SP of article is ₹222 so that we gain 11%.
