An atom containing only one electron and on proton will not carry any charge because proton's positive charge neutralize the negative charge of electron .

If an atom contains one electron and proton it will not carry any charge.

As an electron carries one unit of negative charge. Also , the proton is carrying one unit of positive charge , they will cancel each other and the charge of the atom will be neutral.

The atom carrying one electron and one Proton will such be neutral and will not carry any charge.

The proton and netron has same mass generally.

Number of Neutron = Mass Number - Number of Protons.
