Given :electric bulb of 100 W is lighted for 3 hours daily

cost per unit 3 rupees

To Find  : How much electrical energy would be consumed daily .

 cost

Solution:

electric bulb of 100 W

Hence Energy consumed in 1 hr  = 100 Wh

Lighted daily for 3 hrs

Hence Energy consumed in a day = 3 x 100

= 300 Wh

1 Joule = 1 Watt. sec

1 hr = 3600

= 300 x 3600   Joule

= 108000 Joule

= 108 kJoule

Energy consumed in a day 108 kJoule

Energy Consumed daily = 300 Wh

1 unit = 1 kWh  = 1000 Wh

300 Wh = 300/1000 kWh

=> 300 Wh = 0.3 kWh

=> 300 Wh = 0.3 unit

Energy Consumed daily = 0.3 unit

cost per unit = 3 Rs

Daily cost = 0.3 x 3  = 0.9 Rs

Cost = Rs 0.9  or 90 Paise
