Let the total mass of X₂O₃ be 'M'

Mass of oxygen in X₂O₃ = 3 x 16 = 48 grams

Given that the element 'X' constitutes 60% of the total.

So, % of Oxygen is 40%.

Now,

→ 40% of M = 48

→ 40M/100 = 48

→ M = 120

So The molar mass of X₂O₃ is 120 grams (which contains 48 grams of oxygen)

So, the mass of 2 'X' = 120 - 48 = 72

Mass of 'X' = 72/2 = 36

Thus, the Atomic mass of Element 'X' is 36

Hope it helps!!
