If an ice dropped into a glass of full water , what happened to water level

Here's your answer:



The level of water will remain constant. As per the Archimedes principle, 'When an object is sinked in water, then the water displaced will be equal to the volume of that object.' Now if the ice irrespective of it is first put in the container and not, it will not show any change.

Because If the water is displaced when ice is placed in water, the water will displace. But ice is the form of water so it will melt and keep the same level as earlier.

Hence if an ice is dropped into a glass full of water, The water level will not increase.
