SOLUTION :
Let x be the integer and square of the integer = x².
A.T.Q
x² + x = 90
x² +x - 90 = 0
x² +10x - 9x - 90 = 0
x (x+10) - 9 (x+10) = 0
[By middle term splitting method]
(x + 10) (x - 9) = 0
(x + 10) = 0 or (x - 9) = 0
x = -10 or x = 9
Hence, the integer is -10 & 9 .

Solution :
Let an integer = x
According to the problem given ,
x + x² = 90
=> x² + x - 90 = 0 [ Quadratic equation ]
Splitting the middle term, we get
=> x² + 10x - 9x - 90 = 0
=> x( x + 10 ) - 9( x + 10 ) = 0
=> ( x + 10 )( x - 9 ) = 0
=> x + 10 = 0 or x - 9 = 0
=> x = -10 or x = 9
Therefore ,
Required integer x = - 10 or x = 9
