Strain = change in length/original length
Let the original length in this case is L
So here change in length is (1/100)×L
Using formula of strain
Strain=(1/100)×(L/L)
Hence strain is 0.01

There also will be shear strain you can equate the volume of initial and final wire and find the final radius then use the formulae shear strain=change in radius÷original radius
