Given that the triangle is isoceles right angle triangle.
For isoceles right angled triangle, the base and the height are of same length. So, let
Base = height = a
So, the area would be 1/2 × base × height
=> 1/2 × a × a
= a²/2
Given that the area is 12 cm²
=> a²/2 = 12
=> a² = 12 × 2
=> a² = 24
=> a = √24
=> a = √4 × √6
=> a = 2√6
Hence, the length of base is 2√6 cm.

the area is 12cm square
being rightangled and isoscaled base=height =a
we know that
area=1/2× height×base
=>area=1/2×a×a
=>12=1/2×a×a
=>1/2×a×a=12
=>a×a=12×2/1
=>a=square root 24
as base=height
then ,
square root24/2=sqare root6cm
base=square root6
