let the base be x cm

then height will be also x cm

area = ½ × x × x = 32cm²

= > x ² = 64

=> x = √64 = 8cm

so base = 8cm

and height = 8cm

so , hypotenuse = √ 8² + 8²

= √ 64 + 64

= √128

= 8 √2 cm
