QuestioN :

If an = n square + 4 ,find a14

AnsweR :

We are given :

\rm{a_n \: = \: n^2 \: + \: 4}

Put n = 1

⇒a1 = (1)² + 4

⇒a1 = 1 + 4

⇒a1 = 5

➠ First term (a) is 5

________________________

Put n = 2

⇒a2 = (2)² + 4

⇒a2 = 4 + 4

⇒a2 = 8

➠ Second Term of AP is 8

_______________________

Now, we will find common difference

⇒d = a2 - a1

⇒d = 8 - 5

⇒d = 3

➠ Common Difference is 3

Now, we have to find 14 term

Put n = 14

⇒an = a + (n - 1)d

⇒a14 = 5 + (14 - 1)3

⇒a14 = 5 + (13)3

⇒a14 = 5 + 39

⇒a14 = 44

➠ 14th term of AP is 44
