- The first image is at distance b from the mirror
- The second image is at distance 3b from the opposite mirror
- i.e. second image is at distance 4b from the object (4b=2×2b)
- Similarly we can see that third image will be at distance 5b from the opposite mirror
- i.e. the third image will be at distance 6b from the object
- 6b = 2 × 3b
- Therefore, we can say that the nth image will be at distance 2 × nb or 2nb distance from the object
