If an object of height 10cm is placed at a distance of 36cmfrom a concave mirror of focal length 12cm, find the position nature and height of the image

Given,

U = 36cm

f = 12cm

To find :- Image distance (V)

Linear magnification (m) = f/(f-U)

= 12/-24

m = -1/2

Also , m = -v/u = -1/2 , v/u = 1/2 ,

v = u × 1/2 = 18cm.

m = hi/ho = -1/2 ; hi = -5cm.

Image is inverted and virtual and smaller than

the size of object.
