Given :-

  • If an object starts with an initial velocity of 10 m/s. and accelerates at 2 m/s². t = 10s

To find :-

  • Final velocity

Solution :-

  • Initial velocity = 10m/s

  • Acceleration = 2m/s²

  • Time taken = 10s

According to first equation of motion

→ v = u + at

Where " v " is final velocity, " u " is initial velocity, " a " is acceleration and " t " is time

Put the values of u, a and t

→ v = 10 + 2 × 10

→ v = 10 + 20

→ v = 30 m/s

Hence,

  • Final velocity of an object is 30m/s

More to know :-

  • The rate of change in velocity is known as acceleration

  • Its S.I unit is m/s (metre per second square)

  • Retardation → When acceleration value is negative.
