Working out:

In the above question, we need to find the total distance covered around the circular path by an object.

GiveN:

  • Diameter of circular track = 42 m
  • No. of rounds = 2.5

We have to find the distance covered by the circle.

So, we know that around a circle, in one revolution the object is covering the circumference of the track.

  •  \sf{Circumference = 2\pi r}

So, in 2.5 rounds of the circular track, the total distance covered by the object will be:

 \sf{  = 2\pi r  \times  2.5}

 \sf{ = 5\pi r}

Plug in the values to get the required answer,

  • Radius = 42 cm / 2 = 21 m

⇛ Distance covered = 5πr

⇛ Distance covered = 5 × 22/7 × 21 m

⇛ Distance covered = 5 × 22 × 3 m

⇛ Distance covered = 330 m

Hence, the distance travelled by the object in 2.5 rounds around the circular track:

 \huge{ \boxed{ \red{ \sf{330 \: m}}}}

And we are done !!
