Actually the mass of the body remains the same everywhere. So even on moon the mass of the body remains 12 kg. However, weight changes since the gravitational acceleration on moon is 1/6th that on earth. So it's weight comes out to be around 19.6kN but it's mass would be 12kg

An object weighing 12 newtons on earth will weigh just 2 newtons on moon as the gravity of moon is 1/6 of what earth has and 1/6 of 12 will be 2 only. And also mass is measured in kg and weight in newtons. The mass will be the same 12 kg.
