density= mass/volume

Given,

Mass= 80g

Volume= 10cm^3

d= 80/10

=8g/cm^3

Density of water= 1g/cm^3

So, the subsctance does not float on water

it will sink in water

Hope it helps...

Given that,

Mass of an object, m = 80 g

Volume, V = 10 cm³

To find,

Density of the object.

Solution,

The mass of an object per unit its volume is called its density. It is given by :

d=\dfrac{m}{V}\\\\d=\dfrac{60\ g}{10\ cm^3}\\\\d=0.6\ g/cm^3

The density of water is 1 g/cm³. The density of object is 0.6 g/cm³. If the density of object is less than water, it will sink.
