may or may not.

example :- (1) if an object travels in a circular path then the distance is cover but the displacement is 0.

(2) if an object is travel in an irregular shape than it cover distance but the displacement is not 0

Yes it can be 0 because if the initial and final point is the same then the displacement will be 0 but there will be a distance covered.displacement is measured as the shortest length between the initial and final point so it is possible for the displacement to be 0.
