Answer:

I had always helped and feel privilege to help such kind of people in opening a bank account , we know they can't fill the KYC so I use ask details about them and verifying Voter ID , PAN , or adhaar card use to fill KYC on their behalf.

As they can't sign , we use to take Thumb impression on KYC and do not lend them cheque book and Kept net and mobile banking deactivated.

These types of illiterate customers are very good in maths and hence knows the denomination of notes very well , they can count and knows the addition and substraction well.

So we use to issue ATM/ Debit card to many of them as they were good in numbers .

When customer without debit card use to come for withdrawal we use to let them by withdrawal form and they must bring passbook along with them for physical verification.

In India we have encountered with many illiterate people who don't know how to read and write but are very good in counting , the small vegetable or meat vendors , rickshaw puller , construction side labourers, scrap collectors and more .

hope it helps
