α + β = -b/a  = -1/1 ( bcz 1 and 4 both r negative and b is also negative so by -1x-1x-1=-1)

- αβ = c/a = 4/1

αβ = -4

α + β - αβ = -1 - (-4)

α + β - αβ = -1 + 4

α + β - αβ = 3
