here alpha + beta= -b/a=4/2=2..... (i)

and alpha ×beta=c/a=-5/2.....

so, alpha=-5/2beta...... (ii)

from i and ii ....

-5/2beta+beta=2

-5+2beta/2beta=2

-5+2beta=4beta

-5=2beta...

so, beta=-5/2.....(iii)

from ii and iii...

alpha =1

so, alpha-beta=1-5/2=-3/2 answer...
