If α and β are zeroes of the polynomial f(x) = x²−x−k such that α−β = 9, find k.

here is your answer mate.....

α+β= -b/a = -(-1)/1 = 1

then adding the given equation....

we get...

2α = 10

then.

α = 5

and hence β = 1-α = 1-5 = -4

then....αβ = c/a = k/1 = k

then.. 5×(-4) = -20 answer...

hence k = -20
