If angle a and b form a linear pair, and a- b = 80 degree , then find the value of a .

a-b=80

a= 80 + b

Now, a+b= 180 ( Linear Pair)

80+b +b =180

80 +2b =180

2b = 180-80

b= 100/2

b= 50

Also, a=80+b

a=80+50

a= 130

( . A & B FORM LINEAR PAIR, THEN A+B=180°)

then, A + B = 180° ----(ii)

when we solve both above equations-

we get, B = 50°.

A = 130°.
