Writing it in table

Monday 6*2 = 12

Tuesday 8*2 = 16

Wednesday 4*2 =8

Thursday 5*2 = 10

Friday 7*2 =14

Saturday 4*2 = 8

Sunday 9*2 = 18

a) How many bulbs were sold on friday?

Number of bulbs sold on friday =14

b) On which day were the maximum number of bulbs sold?

Maximum number of bulb were sold on sunday (18)

c) On which of the days same number of bulbs were sold?

same number of bulbs were sold on Wednesday and Saturday (8)

d) In which of the days minimum number of bulbs were sold?

Minimum number of bulbs were sold on Wednesday and saturday (8)

E) If one big carton can hold 9 bulbs. How many cartons were needed in the given week?

Total bulbs = 12+16+8+10+14+8+18

                   =  28+18+22+18

                   =   86

Given that

1 carton can hold 9 bulbs

so,

9 bulbs can be in = 1 carton

1 bulb can be in = 1/9 carton

86 bulb can be in = 86/9 cartons

             86 bulbs can fit in = 9 5/9 cartons

Since we cannot have cartons in fraction, we need 10 cartons
