Rate of changing of velocity is defined as acceleration. (Another name)

Hence the formula for acceleration is:-

Acceleration = (Final velocity-Initial Velocity)/Time

 \frac{v - u}{t}

Where v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity and t is the time period (in seconds)
