Answer:

Area of triangle : 1/2×b×h

77 = 1/2 × b × 7

77 × 2 = b × 7

154 / 7 = b

Base = 22cm

Therefore base is 22cm

Question :-

  • If area of triangle is 77cm² and its height is 7cm , then what length of its base ?

Concept :-

  • Here, the area of a triangle is given and the height too. But the base is not given so by using the formula for the area of a triangle, we can find out the base.

Solution :-

Area of a triangle = 1/2 × b × h

Where,

  • b donates base

  • h donates height

Area = 1/2 × b × h

77 cm² = 1/2 × b × 7 cm

77 cm² = 7/2 cm × b

77 cm² = 3.5 cm × b

77cm²/3.5cm = b

22 cm = b

Therefore, the base of the triangle is 22cm.

Verification :-

Area = 1/2 × 22cm × 7 cm

Area = 22/2 cm × 7cm

Area = 11 cm × 7 cm

Area = 77cm²
