given average of three numbers is 58......

let the first number be x and second number be y then third number will be 24+y....

according to sum,

x=3/4(24+y)

average =sum of total numbers/total numbers

58=3/4(24+y)+y+24+y/3

58×3=3/4(24+y)+2y+24

174=3/4(24)+3/4(y)+2y+24

174=18+3/4(y)+2y+24

174=42+3y+8y/4{i took LCM}

174-42=11y/4

132×4/11=y

48=y

•y=48

then the first number wel be x=3/4(24+48)

x=3/4(72)

x=3×18

x=54

difference between first number and second number is=54-48=6

therefore, answer is 6
