$= > R = \sqrt{2 {a}^{2} + 2 {a}^{2} \: cos \theta } \\ = > R = \sqrt{2 {a}^{2} + 2 {a}^{2} \times \frac{ - 1}{2}}$

On Cancelling 2 with 2
