Concept:

HCF stands for Highest Common Factor. HCF of  a given set of numbers is a largest no. which can divide the given set of numbers

LCM stands for Lowest Common Multiple. LCM of a given set of a number is a smallest number which is divisble by the given set of numbers

Multiplication of two numbers = hCF x LCM

Given:

b is a factor of a and b

Find:

Find the HCF of a and b

Solution:

if a is divisible by b because b is a factor of a

So we can write, a=kb

where, k is a constant

Therefore, b is the HCF of a and b
