Answer:

b = 2 a

c = 5 + b

so, c = 5 + 2a

a + b + c = 40

a + 2 a + 5 + 2 a = 40 ( b = 2 a) ; (c = 5 + 2 a)

5 + 5 a = 40

5 a = 35

a = 7

b = 2 a = 14

c = 5 + 2 a = 19

Answer:

A's age is 7 yrs. b's age is 14 yrs . and c's age is 19 yrs.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a's age be x yrs.

Then b's age = 2x yrs.

C's age = 2x + 5 yrs.

According to the question,

x + 2x+ 2x+5 = 40

   5x = 40 - 5

      x = 35 / 5 =7 yrs

B's age = 2 × 7 = 14 yrs.

C's age = 14 + 5=1 9 yrs
