i strongly agree with this statement because

1: it has got many mineral resources suchas coal, antimony, gold, natural gas,and crude oil.

2: fruit production is at its highest rate in Balochistan. the main fruits grown are dates, grapes, apples, almonds, apricots, plums, peaches, melons and pomegranate.and their quality is also good.

3: livestock and their products is common in the region. the most important livestock products are wool, goat hair, and skins.

4: fishing activity is either done for domestic use or for commercial purpose.there are three main fishing parts:

gawadar: the total annual catch is estimated at 10000 tones including about 200 tones of shrimps.the major part of the catch is exported to Sri Lanka as dry salted fish

pasni: it is number two fishing port and the annual catch is estimated at 2500 tones. of this about 400 tonnes are consumed locally ant the rest is exported to Sri Lanka

Ormara: the annual catch is estimated at 700 tonnes most of which is exported to Sri Lanka.

Vegetables and seed industry: the up lands having more and long winters offer the best scope for growing vegetable seeds that initially require some chilly weather for transplantation.

Answer:

To large extent it is possible for Balochistan to feed the whole Pakistan, if developed. In the western south of Pakistan, Balochistan’s economy is mainly dependant on agricultural activities with 67% labor being engaged. In the fruit production sector surplus of fruits produced is estimated to be about 75% of the total production of food the fruits grown in Balochistan are transported to various cities across the country with Karachi being the largest market for these fruits. Grapes melons and pomegranates are main fruits grown. There are good opportunities for the fruits including apricots melons peaches plums and pomegranates to be exported to Gulf States due to their excellent quality. In highlands where there are long cold winters the vegetable seeds are grown, because of weather support. The vegetable seeds if grown in high amount and good quality can bring money. Nomadic life stock farming is common with wool, goat hairs and skins being the most important livestock products. These are also exported under the government grading scheme ensuring the quality of the export. If the quality could be improved they can be exported in high quantity. Fishing activity in balochistan is usually done for domestic or commercial purposes. Gawadar, with the highest annual catchment of about 10000 tonnes, Pasni and Ormara are three main fishing ports. The catchments are mainly exported to Siri lanka. The development of fishing industry of Balochistan by the usage of latest technology can contribute in the economy. Balochistan is appreciable through its natural gas and oil deposits. 46% of Pakistans gas supply is provided from Sui located in the edge of lower Indus plain and not on Balochistan plateau. Further development can lead to the export bringing wealth and the improvement of the Balochistan region. The PMDC is operating three coal mines as well. An effort had been made by Resources Development Coorperation along with Saindak Copper-Gold project to exploit the natural resources in the highly mineralized zones of Balochistan. As a fact Balochistan has remained neglected through out the years with the fact that the rugged landscape and the mountainous terrain of Balochistan discouraged the development in the mineral resources’ sector. Due to this the infrastructure is unavalaible, there is an absence of link-roads and the railway lines only covers limited areas. Lack of infrastructure cut shorts the facilities of the residents of Balochistan. Balochistan has a dry climate with low rainfall. Both the drinking and irrigation water is scare and the water supplies depends on small water schemes like Karez system, flood diversion channels and small tubewells.
