Here, Base = 7cm, Perpendicular = 8cm \:  and \:  Hypotenuse \:  = \:  (?)

So,

 {Hypotenuse}^{2} = {Base}^2 + {Perpendicular}^{2}

\longrightarrow{Hypotenuse}^{2} = {(7)}^2 + {(8)}^2

\longrightarrow{Hypotenuse}^{2} = 49 + 64
