If between two masses m1 and M2 the distance is d and force is X What will the value of force if distance is doubled?

Let, initially the force between the two bodies M1 and M2 is "2F" and the distance between them is "d". If we double the distance between the two bodies M1 and M2 to "2d", The force between the two bodies reduced to "1/4F" from "2F" i.e. the force of gravitation will reduced eight times, if we double the distance.
