Answer:

If the body starts from rest & acquires a velocity of 12m/s in 5second, the acceleration & the distance moved by the body are 2.4m/s^{2} and 30m respectively

Explanation:

  • We know the equations of motions

       V=u+at and S=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^{2}

where,

V- the final velocity

u- the initial velocity

a- acceleration of the body

t- time to change the velocity

S- distance moved

using the first equation of motion acceleration of the body is

a=\frac{V-u}{t}

from the question, we have

the final velocity V= 12m/s

the body starts from rest so the initial velocity u=0

the time taken t=5s

therefore the acceleration a=12/5=2.4m/s^{2}

put the values in the second equation we get

the distance traveled S=0+\frac{1}{2} *2.4*5^{2} =30m
